The College of Education 

The College of Education through its five academic departments: Educational Leadership, Curriculum, and Special Education; Health, Physical Education, & Sport Sciences; Psychology & Counseling; and Teacher Education offers bachelors, masters, and specialist degrees. The doctoral degree in Educational Leadership is offered through the Center for Excellence in Education. The college enrolls approximately 1600 undergraduate and 450 graduate students on the Jonesboro campus. More information about ASU is available at: www.astate.edu.

The College of Education currently supports the largest cohort of undergraduate minority teacher-scholars in Arkansas and strives to recruit and retain faculty, students, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Arkansas State University is a doctoral institution with an academic enrollment of approximately 10,000 students on the main campus in Jonesboro. Jonesboro is about 130 miles northeast of Little Rock and about 70 miles northwest of Memphis.

Jonesboro is located approximately one and a half hours northwest of Memphis, Tennessee and two hours northeast of Little Rock, Arkansas on Crowley's Ridge. A growing mid-sized town atmosphere of just over 50,000, Jonesboro is Northeast Arkansas' hub of regional shopping, healthcare and cultural activity. Located between the cities of Little Rock, Memphis and St. Louis, Jonesboro is also a major manufacturing center for products ranging from potato chips and cereal to industrial conveyors, casters to tool boxes and recently, office furniture. Four public school districts serve the city's population, as well as private and parochial schools. Additionally, Jonesboro is the home of Arkansas State University, a 90-year-old institution boasting a student body of more than 10,000 students annually. State of Arkansas
