  • Received Administrator Award from Arkansas Counseling Association 2004

  • Passed other professional accreditation reviews such as CACREP and Athletic Training.

  • Increased diversity among the faculty in College of Education - 2000 - Present

  • Invited and was accepted for membership in the Holmes Partnership - 2003

  • Invited and accepted for membership in the European Teacher Education Network - 2003

  • With support of entities within the College of Education led the university in external funding - 1999 - present.

Graduate and doctoral courses in teacher education, curriculum, leadership, and the social sciences. Doctoral Committee Chair and Committee member. Secondary public school teacher in history, geography, and social studies. Also, upper grades teaching fellow at Burris Laboratory School, Ball State University. Have also supervised internships and student teachers (1972-1994).

Consulting/Speaking

Consultant to colleges and universities on issues of curriculum and instruction, grant making, and accreditation.

Provided testimony on educational policy before state legislative committees and caucuses and appeared On regional television discussing education policy.

Consultant to school districts on desegregation planning and school renewal.

Have designed and led domestic study trips and leadership seminars. Also, have designed and led groups internationally to Great Britain, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, French, China and Costa Rica.

Speaker on educational and historical topics to civic, literary, and professional organizations including AAUW, League of Women Voters, Phi Delta Kappa chapters, National Honor Societies, and AARP.

Presentations representing the W.K. Kellogg Foundation on grant making, philanthropy, and higher education issues.

Graduate education program evaluator for the Ohio Board of Regents.
